Collecta

Collecta embodies both historical  and my personal reflection on consumer habits. Household furniture once symbolized a family’s wealth and social status, to showcase taste. Collecta begins as a commentary on this traditional role of furniture. During the design process, I pondered ‘Danshari,’ known as the art of decluttering or living minimally, and applied it to my own practice.

A manifestation of decluttering, Collecta is meant to remain unoccupied. It stands in opposition to fullness and the prevailing culture of endless consumption.
