AboutYining Ge is a furniture designer based in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in Hangzhou, China, and has lived in Vermont and Rhode Island. With a background in furniture design at the Rhode Island School of Design, Yining primarily works with wood, also engages in projects involving metal, ceramics, and textiles. His deep connection with materials lends him a contemplative vision, allowing him to see beyond the surface. Drawing inspiration from monolithic structures, his studio practice explores the relationship between materiality and graphic silhouettes. Additionally, Yining's work is an exploration, a quest to redefine functionality within the realms of the utilitarian, merging the practical within every creation.
