Retro Sconce is a product produced for the collaborate elective between Rhode Island School of Design and Herman Miller. Sycamore boards come from the front yard of the De Pree House, MI, dersigned by the Eames. This project aims to design a piece of funiture using the sycamore tree provided for the DePree House.

The presence of the Retro Sconce is to create a consistent order and seamlessly diffuses the textures of the interior with the elegance of the architectural language. Sited to the left of the fireplace, the fixture includes a semitransparent, planer paper shade that effectively presents harsh glare while allowing a soft diffused light to illuminate and meander through the first floor living area.
